The Sweet Global Success of Mobile Casino GamblingLike most people in your social circles you will probably log onto Facebook a few times a week to find that your friends, family and acquaintances have sent you a request to join them in one the many shamelessly popular games available on the online social network.

I cant begin to tell you how many request I received this week alone for the hit game, Candy Crush Saga! At least 30 this week and its only Monday! Despite the constant barrage of requests believe or not the addiction to the sugar filled sweetness of Facebook’s most popular app finally has gotten the best of me.

In my weakened state of sheepishness I give in and burn up my mobile phone battery on breaks playing the time decaying app. But its not my fault, according to a recent market research survey, being of the female persuasion and all, it is statistically likely for me to play this popular app on my mobile device.

The research company Mintel recently published results from a market study that revealed “27% of women said they play mobile casual games, compared to 24% of men.”

In June, Mintel also published that men aged 18-34 are also much more likely than women their own age or older men to have downloaded three or more mobile games in the past month.

Based on the popularity of various research studies it is estimated that sales of mobile games are to reach $2.5 bn by 2016.

Aristocrat Leisure, one of the largest Australian gaming machine manufacturers in 2012 expanded with the acquisition of Product Madness, one of Facebook’s largest operators of slot games. It followed up the purchase with the recent launch of nLive in North America, a solution offering online casino games in a market that Juniper research says with the deregulation of online gambling in the US and Europe, along with the development of the Asian market will propel annual wagers on mobile gambling platforms to more than $US100 billion in 2017.

The mere fact that consumers are wanting to spend money on virtual currencies is proof enough that mobile gambling games will continue to grow to support these estimates.

In a recent results analysts from 32 Red, the online casino witnessed a mobile activity increase of 17%, up from 8% in 2012.

Cisco reports that last year’s mobile data traffic was nearly twelve times the size of the entire global Internet in 2000 as wireless data traffic will continue to grow 66% a year for the next five years with smartphones leading the way with over 80% in data traffic alone.

And with the continuing rise of gaming apps, technology will continue to be develop to help with improvement in the casino industry. Just recently Locaid, the mobile location data company teamed up with communications service provider mobileStorm to launch two new products that is suggested to revolutionize casino mobile marketing.

Location-based SMS Messaging will provide advanced geo-location messaging services to the casino gaming industry delivering relevant, real-time offers, to consumers where ever and when ever as it will automatically detect the consumers’ geo-position.

The AppMail™ solution will provide consumers with content rich offers in an exclusive inbox related to the specific application, sending push notifications of check-in reminders, restaurant offers, slot tournament invites and even guest surveys.

So if you give in to those pesky little invites from friends and family to join them in the virtual world to play a little Candy Crush Sage, don’t feel to guilty about indulging in a little social gaming, your definitely not the only one with a sweet tooth for mobile casino gambling!
